Rally in Bogotá, the Capital City
The wedding festivities begin in Bogotá, with ample opportunities to enjoy the many things to see, hear, eat, drink, and experience in Colombia’s largest and most cosmopolitan city.
If you’re in a position to do so, we recommend arriving by June 7th to get acclimated, and also to enjoy the group activities in the city that we’ll be sharing privately with attendees. Hotel accommodations for both Bogotá and the 2-night stay in the countryside are available in the password-protected “For Guests” page.
Wedding Ceremony Location
We are thrilled to be able to host you at Villa Gomez, located in Fuquene [FOO-ke-ne; not “fuccin-A!”]. Overlooking a heart-shaped laguna, the property (along with lodging/accommodations) is located 2 hours north of the capital city, Bogotá. Once you arrive in Bogotá, we’ll take care of the rest! Transportation during the will be provided for all guests. Use the map below to see the surrounding area, or click here for the google map link of Laguna de Fuquene.
About Villa Gomez
Villa Gomez began as a bucolic project (e.g., finca agroecologica) by Sebastian’s parents, Lourdes and Jorge. Its namesake, Gomez, honors two people: Jorge Gomez and a family friend, Adriana Gomez, who introduced the family to this magical place. Over the years, it has been a never-ending fountain of joy and peace, but also an arduous labor of love for the family and the partners entrusted with its day-to-day care.
What originally started as a single standalone structure with an impermissibly steep access road has become a complex with 7+ structures, a full-time team, layered security systems, and a whole mess of flora and fauna.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or you’ve been here before, we cannot wait to share the space with you as part of the wedding ceremony and countryside immersion. Hotel accommodations for both Bogotá and the 2-night stay in the countryside will be communicated privately to invited guests.

The wedding ceremony will overlook Laguna de Fúquene - a heart-shaped lake located in the Ubaté-Chiquinquirá Valley, part of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense, in the north of Cundinamarca, Colombia, at the border with Boyacá. This Andean lake was sacred in the religion of the Muisca (also called Chibcha) whose influence and presence in the region remain to this day. The Muisca (also called Chibcha) are an indigenous people and culture of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense, who collectively formed the Muisca Confederation and resisted Spanish colonization. Though Sebastian is generally prone to being a clown, once you’re here you’ll see why it remains reverent ground. (Source – Wikipedia)
